The Chinook Village concept is quite simple. You sign a life-lease agreement expressing your intention to live in the Village according to the lifestyle bylaws with other adults 50 years of age and over.

The entire value of your lease is paid up-front just as if you were purchasing a home. After you take occupancy of your suite, you may live there for as long as you choose or you may move out at any time. The Evangelical Housing Society (backed by the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada) guarantees to refund you 95% of the lease price within six months of your giving notice to move should another lessor not be immediately available.
