It’s the Little Things That Count…

We make sure our residents have access to everything they need, and then some. Chinook Village has two registered Therapists on staff who are resident-focused ensuring and encouraging an independent lifestyle. They adapt programs to meet individual resident needs so all may enjoy the excellent variety of leisure programs.

Never a dull moment! Our resident, Elsie, shares some of the activities offered.

At Chinook Village, we strongly believe in promoting a sense of community, not only within our facility but also with the community at large. Some of those programs our residents have worked with together are:

  • Adopt-a-Grandparent program a partnership with the Early Childhood Coalition, connecting seniors from Chinook Village with young children and their parents from the community

  • Cyber Seniors connecting students from Medicine Hat Collage who act as mentors to our seniors who want to learn more about using computers, iPads, cell telephones etc.

  • Pen pal project connecting our seniors with students from a Grade Three class; Having fun with preschoolers who come to visit throughout the year, bringing music, crafts, reading and joy to our seniors!

I like Chinook Village as it is a friendly place. Lots of nice people, both staff and residents. Recreation programs are good and keep us busy.
